About Us

Ben’s Ford Baptist Church, located on Highway 439 in Bogalusa, offers its members and visitors a variety of ways to worship our Lord and learn about Him.   In addition to Sunday School, devotion, two morning services, and an evening service on Sunday, and a midweek prayer service on Wednesday, BFBC offers AWANA (Approved Workers Are Not Ashamed) for children, Burden Bearers classes for those struggling with addictions, a Seed Sowers program to reseed the gospel in our parish, and several other classes, groups, and programs.

Statement of Faith

This is Ben’s Ford Baptist Church’s statement of faith and our quest to continually follow the guidelines of Scripture and to address certain biblical, moral, and social issues that arise in our generation and may be added to. Baptists are a people of deep beliefs and cherished doctrines. Throughout our history, we have been a confessional people, adopting statements of faith as a witness to our beliefs and a pledge of our faithfulness to the doctrines revealed in Holy Scripture.

Our History

At Ben's Ford Baptist Church, we look back on over a century of God's blessings and miracles toward us.  We also look back on a rich heritage of godly dedication and brotherly love by those who diligently labored in both body and spirit to make our church the blessed place that it is today. Ben’s Ford Baptist Church began worshiping God and preaching His Word as an official body of nine believers on October 3, 1908, in an old schoolhouse about one mile from the present location of the church.  The first pastor of the church was Bro. Pastor Lynn Martin

Pastor Jerry Lynn is the youngest son of Hezzie and Rosalie Martin of Pine. He is married to Connie (Ard) Martin, and together they have four children:  Bridget (Percy) Knight of Bogalusa;  Shanda (Tim) Slocum of Bogalusa;  Caleb (Toni) Martin, co-pastor of Ben's Ford Baptist Church;  and Jeremy Martin, who resides with our Lord in heaven.  Bro. Lynn and Mrs. Connie have five grandchildren: Payton and Caroline Knight, Jeremiah and Lucas Slocum, and Noel Martin.

Pastor Caleb Martin

Pastor James Caleb is the youngest son of Pastor Lynn and Connie Martin of Bogalusa. He is married to Toni (Newman) Martin, and together they have a daugher, Noel Martin.  Bro. Caleb has returned to Ben's Ford Baptist to co-pastor with his father, Bro. Lynn. Since returning to Ben's Ford, Bro. Caleb has expressed his interest in the in the youth of Ben's Ford by starting the Refuge Youth Group.
